Immigration Psychological Evaluations

I have spent the majority of my career working with asylum seekers and other forced migrants. As a result, I am very familiar with the struggles faced by this community. I know that an immigration psychological assessment can be very intimidating. However, I do all that I can to make sure that you feel comfortable throughout the process. I am also happy to answer questions and address concerns before you schedule.

I provide Immigration Psychological Evaluations for:

  • Asylum

  • U Visas

  • T Visas

  • VAWA (Violence Against Women Act)

I generally meet with people for evaluations for 2-3 hours, but they can take longer. After we meet, I spend many hours putting together my documentation for your attorney to submit to the court.

While immigration evaluations can be a very valuable resource and are a factor in helping many cases succeed, they are not necessary or helpful for everyone. Make sure to work with your attorney to determine if an immigration assessment is a good fit for your case. Please note, I typically do not provide evaluations for people not working with an attorney or BIA accredited representative.

If you don’t currently have legal representation and are unable to afford an immigration attorney,  I highly recommend that you explore pro-bono (free) and low-bono (reduced cost) options first such as:

These organizations may have long waitlists and might not be able to help you file before the year deadline. It is best to reach out to multiple resources at once. This is a good place to start, but there are other good organizations and attorneys not listed here.

Fees

$1000 flat rate (we may meet one or twice depending on your needs and preferences). $500 is due when we meet and $500 is due before you receive the evaluation. Depending on your language needs, there may be an additional fee for interpretation.

While I do take pro-bono cases, I do not choose these cases myself. If you are in need of pro-bono services, I recommend that you and your attorney look into Physicians for Human Rights and their aid network.
